Providing information and support to those
undergoing or contemplating living kidney donation

Kidney Donor Volunteers

The members of the living kidney donor support group volunteer for different aspects of the service. Some living kidney donors and kidney transplant recipients volunteer to help with the education of patients. Some volunteer to mentor patients while they work out whether they wish to be a donor.

Speaking to someone who has been through the process is invaluable. Some volunteer to support those patients while they are an inpatient at the time of donation to help them around the operation. Some volunteers have skills and insights into the management of cases after surgery and once they are at home.

Notify the living kidney donor coordinator at RNSH if you wish to access our support volunteers. Also notify the living donor coordinator if you wish to volunteer.
